Noru

Comparison

An EU-built alternative to Secureframe

Secureframe and Noru both automate SOC 2 and ISO 27001. They differ on where your data lives, how privacy is run and how each is priced — set out here from Secureframe's own pages.

Why alternatives

What teams tell us they are re-evaluating

Common reasons teams evaluate other options.

A UK region is not an EU region

Secureframe hosts on AWS US East or AWS London. Some EU customers write hosting in an EU member state into their contracts, and London does not meet that.

Every framework after the first

Each Secureframe tier includes one framework. A programme carrying SOC 2, ISO 27001 and a regulation prices every addition.

Entry-tier usage limits

Fundamentals caps AI questionnaire answers and Trust Center document requests per year — limits a sales-led team reaches quickly.

Privacy kept as documents

A records-of-processing register maintained by hand drifts out of date the moment engineering ships.

EU residency by default

Evidence, policies and personal data are stored and processed on European infrastructure for every customer. AI inference is the one activity that may leave the EEA, under EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Privacy records from your code

Article 30 records and a data map derived from source code and CI, so the register changes when your systems do.

One control library

30+ frameworks mapped once, so ISO 27001 after SOC 2 — or NIS2 after both — reuses the evidence you already collect.

AI that drafts, people decide

Cortex drafts from evidence already in your programme. Every output is attributable and reviewable, and your data never trains a model.

Why Noru

Where Noru is different

What sets Noru apart for faster, smarter compliance.

Moving from Secureframe

Evidence that comes from your own systems — cloud, identity, code, HR — is collected again by Noru once the integrations are connected. Policies, risks and vendor records come across, and controls are re-mapped to Noru's library. We scope the move against your audit calendar during the demo.

Reconnect integrations; evidence is collected again from source

Bring across policies, risks and vendor records

Map controls once across every framework you carry

Time the switch around your next audit window

FAQ

Noru vs Secureframe FAQ

Talk to us

What is the best Secureframe alternative for EU companies?

For EU companies, Noru is built around the obligations Secureframe treats as frameworks among many: GDPR records of processing derived from your code, NIS2, DORA and the EU AI Act on one control library, and EU data residency for every customer. Secureframe hosts on AWS US East or AWS London.

How is Noru different from Secureframe?

Both automate SOC 2 and ISO 27001 evidence. Noru differs on privacy operations — Article 30 records derived from source code and CI — on EU residency by default, and on its commercial model: capability packages licensed by scope rather than one framework per tier.

How much does Noru cost compared with Secureframe?

Secureframe publishes a starting price for its Fundamentals tier and quotes the rest. Noru does not publish a price list: it licenses the platform plus the capability packages your obligations require, priced per deployment. Book a demo for a written quote against your scope.

Does Noru train AI on our compliance data?

No. Customer data is never used to train, fine-tune or evaluate any model — Noru's or a provider's — and every AI feature runs under zero data retention terms, so the model provider returns the output and keeps no copy of the prompt or response. Both commitments are contractual, in Section 4.6 of our Terms and Sections 3.5–3.6 of our DPA. Ask every vendor you shortlist for the same in writing.
