SOC 2 policy templates

Thirteen policy skeletons that cover what SOC 2 auditors ask for, each with its purpose, fill-in commitments and the criteria it supports. Short on purpose: every commitment is one you will be tested on.

A policy is a promise the auditor will test. Fill in the brackets with what you actually do, delete commitments you cannot keep, and have each policy approved and dated before the observation period starts.

Staff need to acknowledge the policies too: keep the acknowledgement records, because auditors sample them under CC1.1 and CC2.2.

Talk to us

Which policies does SOC 2 require?

The criteria do not list policies by name; they ask for outcomes, and policies are how most companies show the intent behind them. This pack covers the set auditors usually expect to see; the guide linked below explains what each has to say.

Can I use these policies as they are?

No. They are skeletons: the brackets are the decisions that make a policy yours, and an auditor will test what each one says against what you do. A short policy you follow beats a long one you do not.

Trust, settled.

Templates are the start. Noru drafts the policies from your own setup, tracks approvals and acknowledgements, and keeps the evidence.
